Lonicera flava - Yellow Honeysuckle, Pale Yellow Honeysuckle. One of our native honeysuckles, this vine prefers upland rocky forests, bluffs, and streamsides. There is some stiffness to the stems, so it may also appear as a small shrub.

Similar species are L. dioica and L. reticulata.

Endangered in Illinois, Special Concern in Tennessee, critically imperiled in Kansas, Presumed Extirpated in Ohio.

The blossoms are in whorls on 2 or 3 pedicels arising from the center of the connate (fused) bracts at the end of the stem.
